Because the construction will require many layers and many hands will work asynchronously, it is clear that it is necessary to establish a clear common understanding of what we are building.
So we decided to make a 1/1 scale drawing so nothing is lost in translation. This method of work is one I observed at Harada Tekojou, my structure engineer family factory in Niigata Japan.
The thin recycled corrugated plastic sheets we are using will be reused in the building itself: as little waste as possible. Each sheet is 2x1m and costs 7HKD. Sold in packs of 30 at Yellow River timber in Tai Kok Tsui (Cheung Fung Mansion, Tung Chau St, Tai Kok Tsui).
We’re super excited to get going with the construction as the launch date approaches!
We’ll need a lot of helping hands soon.
Day 2 of tracing: it’s a wrap!
