Ecological growth (biodiversity)
Problem- Victoria Harbour is full of biodiversity but it hasn't been studied in full, studying the species which grow around the oyster baskets may help identify more the local species and help bring back the ecology to the area.
Question & Methodology-
What type of species will start to grow in the area? The ocean imagineer will bring in a lot of biodiversity, due to the oysters being habite builders as well as the archiREEF both of which will increase biodiversity as they create excellent shelter for other marine life and provide food. We visited the site of Ocean Imagineer and we saw a lot of biodiversity. We intend on making a north point marine biodiversity database, to track if the oysters and archireef are beneficial for the harbour. We have already started a biodiversity database.
Experiment, Measurements, Observation and what we will evaluate-
We will set up an underwater camera to record the biodiversity which is occurring under the water, we will track all of the species on a new system but I will link the original database which we have already started.
Creating a database could allow more people to connect with the harbor, as most people only see it as a dirty harbor if we can make a connection about the marine life down there using this database or just the videos alone would be a great project.
